Christmas crafts, the inclusive way!

Inclusive painting fun with Charlotte and Ivy!

There are lots of ways to make painting and craft time with your kids more accessible and inclusive. Using hands and feet as your paintbrush can be a nice sensory experience for your child. They get to explore the feel and texture of the paint while creating their masterpiece!

If your child has high tone and struggles to open their hand, you can use their feet instead or the side of their fist can help create lots of lovely different shapes to make their creation.

You can pour a little paint into a paper plate so you have a larger pallet to fit hands and feet or use a paint brush or sponge to paint it onto them.

If your child doesn’t like the feel of paint on their hands you can use hand over hand to paint with toilet roll tubes, sponges, Christmas beads (as demonstrated by the lovely Ivy) or practically anything to create different shapes and patterns and to enjoy lots of sensory fun with different items.

Have you had your Peeps’ Christmas craft pack? We’d love to see your creations!
