We’re here to help.

We recognise that there is a lot in the news and on social media around maternity safety at the moment.

The Ockenden Review, led by Donna Ockenden is being published on the 24th June, and The Independent National Maternity and Neonatal Investigation, led by Baroness Valerie Amos, is due for publication the week after.

The publication of these reports may bring up difficult emotions, memories, or questions for many families affected by H.I.E.

Part of our role at Peeps is not only to support families, but also to help ensure as many voices as possible are heard. We have contributed to these reviews by supporting families to share their experiences and ensuring that the voices of those affected by H.I.E. are represented. We know families who have been involved in one or both of these reviews, and also understand that the news and discussions around them can have a significant impact on anyone affected by it, whether directly involved in a review or not.

We want to remind you that we’re here; to listen, to support, to be alongside.

Some of you may remember our Little Packs of Calm, which we introduced during the Covid pandemic. These letterbox-sized parcels are filled with thoughtful items to encourage self-care and taking a little time for yourself. We’re bringing them back for 2026 as a small reminder that you matter, and that you’re not alone.

You can nominate yourself or someone else to receive a free pack. The only criteria is that the recipient has been touched by H.I.E. and is registered with Peeps.

The form is online here: Little Pack of Calm – Nomination Form – Fill in form

In addition to the packs, we also have our usual support, as well as a dedicated “Let’s Chat…” session (click here for more info), all of which can be found online, or you can message info@peeps-hie.org

Please do take care of yourself, and get in touch if we can help in any way.
