Let’s keep talking
If you’re finding it hard…
…for whatever reason, then please don’t struggle on your own.
Going through a HIE experience can be difficult. The effects, whether physical or emotional can be hard to manage, sometimes catching you off guard. Throw in a global pandemic then it really isn’t surprising that people can feel completely overwhelmed, sad, scared, anxious or lonely.
We wish more than anything that we had a magic wand to make everything ok. If we did, we would wave it about, spreading sparkle and taking away the hurt. Until we find a way to do that, we promise that we’ll be here with gentle ears, kind hearts and support for you in bucket loads.
If you feel you might benefit from speaking to a trained professional, we can arrange and fund counselling sessions for HIE mums and dads. Due to restrictions on face to face meetings, we have been using Yorkshire Psychotherapy’s telephone service and received some really positive feedback from our parents who have used them.
We understand that it might feel a little daunting asking for help, you may not be sure what to expect; you’ll be well looked after and sending that first message or making the call is often the hardest step.
If you haven’t already completed our quick referral form, you can find it here.
Please get in touch if there is anything we can do to support, you’re not alone.
